V is for Vacation

Vacation - a period of time devoted to pleasure, rest, or relaxation.

I am constantly thinking about my next vacation, and I'm sure I am not alone on this.  Vacations are typically full of activities that we enjoy.   Hiking, surfing, amusement parks, sleeping in late, or hunting down every cupcakery within a 60 minute drive.  I'll leave the surfing to others!

Troy and I take a vacation from work every year on our anniversary and Thursday we will be celebrating 4 years.   The first year was just a coincidence because we were booking a trip to Jamaica and the cheapest rates just happened to be during the week of our first anniversary.  What a way to celebrate!  Since then we have made a point to take time off work and spend a few days reconnecting and enjoying each other.  It really doesn't matter what we do, or where we go, as long as we are spending our anniversary together.

So what's on the agenda this year?  Five days of anniversary celebrating!  We are staying home this year so that means renting movies, a full day (or two) of geocaching, laying in bed reminiscing about our wedding day, and perhaps a cupcake or two (or three)!

I hope our yearly April 28th vacation tradition continues for as long we both shall live.  I will give up the rest of my birthdays if it means we will always get to spend our anniversary together....acting like newlyweds :)
